WooCommerce launch checklist: products, payments and order testing

中文

Prepare a WooCommerce launch by checking product data, payments, shipping, tax rules, order tests, backups, rollback conditions and operational owners.

Discuss your project

Before launch, turn product information, checkout rules and operating responsibilities into a testable checklist. This separates finished pages from a store ready for real orders.

When to use this checklist

Use it for a new store, a website adding transactions, or a review before promotion. It does not replace provider approval, legal or tax advice, or third-party commitments.

Prepare product and stock data

  • Confirm names, categories, images, descriptions, variations and options.
  • Define SKUs, prices, stock reduction, back-order and purchase-limit rules.
  • Document special delivery for digital, bundled or made-to-order products.
  • Assign a content owner and an approved version so testing has a stable baseline.

Confirm markets, payments and delivery

List sales regions, currencies, tax display and invoice requirements. Providers control account applications, identity checks, settlement and fees; integration can be tested, but approval cannot be promised. Decide shipping zones, rates, exclusions and notifications before checkout testing.

Define returns and customer messages

The business should provide returns, privacy and store terms plus a support route. Assign notifications for payment, shipping, cancellation and refunds. Legal and tax wording remains the responsibility of the business or its adviser.

Run an end-to-end order matrix

  • Check product discovery, variation selection, stock status and cart totals.
  • Test discounts, shipping, tax, successful payment and failed payment.
  • Verify order states, private records, email content and actual inbox receipt.
  • Cover agreed cancellation, refund, mobile-checkout and recovery scenarios.

Plan launch, rollback and ownership

Keep restorable file and database backups, then agree on content freeze, final synchronization, cache changes and rollback. Assign owners for products, orders, payments, hosting and support, including who pauses sales during an external failure.

Accept readiness against agreed rules

Accept against business rules and a test matrix, not appearance alone. Record test accounts, representative orders, open issues and the observation window. Live-payment tests need authorization and a controlled amount.
